The Art of Mobility 2011-2026

The Art of Mobility

In 2011, one day in Bali, on the beach, I sat under a palm tree, playing with my iPhone. That day, I discovered a way to create digital collages or magic mandalas, using iPhone apps.

The apps felt like paper and digital scissors. in my hands. By tapping and touching, I used my fingers to blend and layer my paintings, digitally cutting and assembling fragments, and adding colors and lines to create collages.

I combined my travel photos from India, Singapore, Thailand, Bali, with images of my paintings, photos of water, temples, friends, and animals. This process suited my impatient spirit-I preferred spontaneous digital blending over the rigidity of the darkroom.

My spiritual digital collages embody Bali’s energy and invite viewers into abstract, meditative realms. I rejected darkroom precision for intuitive digital blending. The Art of Mobility collages created worlds where the visible and invisible merge. This quick, unplanned process suits my personality—intuitive and eager for change and transformation.

Lush oil paintings blend layers of color into light and shadow, evoking a serene space where time feels irrelevant. New work inspired by Maria's visual language of ancient symbols, meditative states and a love of water.
